Consider the responsibility that comes with controlling financial resources and the importance of supporting newcomer dignity, choice and independence.
Where possible, provide items in ways that maximise personal choice. For example, offering additional cash or a gift card may allow newcomers to choose clothing and personal items that best meet their own needs and preferences.
