Reporting Critical Incidents to CRSA #

When to report a critical incident #

Community Supporter Groups should notify CRSA as soon as possible, and within 24 hours, after becoming aware of a critical incident involving a refugee participant in the CRISP.

Information provided through critical incident reporting enables CRSA to:

  • Support Community Supporter Groups by providing advice and guidance during a critical incident.
  • Remind groups of any legislative reporting obligations that may apply, including child protection requirements where relevant.
  • Inform the Department of Home Affairs about the nature and prevalence of critical incidents within the CRISP.
  • Identify emerging trends and systemic issues to improve future guidance, systems and resources for Community Supporter Groups.
