Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) #
The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) provides eligible refugee participants with free English language classes and additional support to help build confidence, independence and future opportunities.

Accessing AMEP #
Refugee participants in the CRISP are eligible to attend free English language classes through the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), which is delivered across Australia.

In some regions, AMEP can be completed through distance learning. Where there is no local AMEP provider, CSGs are encouraged to contact the nearest TAFE to discuss available options.
Additional support #
Parents attending AMEP are eligible for free childcare while participating in English classes. Depending on the location, childcare may be provided at a nearby childcare centre or onsite at the AMEP provider.
Participants can also request support through the AMEP Volunteer Tutor Scheme, which matches them with a trained volunteer tutor for regular one-to-one online English practice.
Further education goals #
CSGs are encouraged to discuss any broader education or training goals the Refugee Household may have in addition to learning English.
Some AMEP providers have career advisers who can help participants explore education, training and employment pathways.
