You May Already Be Insured for Many Day-to-Day Risks #
Your existing personal insurance policies may already provide cover for some activities undertaken while participating in a CRSA program.
At a glance #
- Existing personal insurance may already provide some protection.
- Home, contents and comprehensive car insurance often include liability cover.
- Check your own policies to understand what is and isn’t covered.
Existing insurance may already help #
Many program group members already hold personal insurance policies that may provide protection during activities undertaken as part of supporting refugee newcomers.
For example, home and contents insurance may include legal liability cover for third parties, while comprehensive car insurance may include cover for property damage caused through the use of an insured vehicle.
Check your own policies #
Insurance policies differ between providers and products. Every group member should review their personal insurance policies to understand what cover is available, any exclusions that apply, and whether additional insurance may be appropriate for their circumstances.
“Understanding your existing insurance cover helps you make informed decisions about managing everyday risks.”
