Post-Arrival Communication #

At a glance #

  • Establish a communication method that suits everyone.
  • Maintain regular, respectful contact.
  • Follow CRSA’s expectations for privacy, child safety and responsible use of social media.

Staying connected #

After the Refugee Household arrives in Australia, Community Supporter Groups should consider how they will continue communicating throughout the 12-month support period. If one has not already been established, many groups find that creating a WhatsApp group including all CSG members provides a simple way to coordinate support and share important updates.

Choose a communication approach that is practical, inclusive and comfortable for both the group and the Refugee Household.

Follow CRSA’s communication guidance
When using social media, messaging platforms or other communication tools, Community Supporter Groups should follow CRSA’s guidance on privacy, respectful communication and child safety.
This includes taking particular care when sharing personal information, photographs or other images of the Refugee Household, especially where children are involved.
