Our Purpose

Welcoming newcomers & strengthening communities

Our vision

Australia offers more refugees the opportunity to rebuild their lives in safety with community members empowered to provide a warm and supportive welcome into local communities.

Our mission

To empower Australians to welcome refugees, building pathways to safety, belonging and stronger communities.

Our Values

We are committed to our vision and mission; we take a fearless and focussed approach to finding ways to achieve our goals rather than playing it safe.
We are a heart-centred organisation by the goodness of people, community connections, mutual support. We are mindful of the experiences of others and strive to act with empathy in everything we do.
We collaborate with others as equals and celebrate the strengths of everyone involved in our work. We treat all people with fairness and respect.
As aspirational change makers, we challenge the status quo and lead innovation in refugee settlement. We value listening, learning, and creative problem-solving to build better outcomes for refugee communities.
We trust in our collective ability to build a powerful movement. We believe in the knowledge, strengths, and talents of communities and refugee participants, and we work to earn and maintain that trust every day.

On Refugees

Refugees experience a sense of welcome upon arrival and can access more resettlement opportunities in Australia. Those with the most compelling resettlement and humanitarian needs are included and prioritised for resettlement. These newcomers are supported to fulfil their full aspirations and quickly develop strong ties in their local communities. The program gives all generations from a refugee household the opportunity to receive holistic support, with flow-on benefits for future generations.
