Our mission to foster more diverse, inclusive communities through community sponsorship continues. The CRSA team has made the decision to extend the date for our final tally to 31 August.  Get involved and help us get to 100!

Bass Coast Shire Council hosts a community event to celebrate International Women’s Day, with a prominent focus on cultural diversity.

“As we continue to reduce the gender gap, we also recognise the rich cultural diversity of women in our community and their journey to equality,” says Cr Rochelle Halstead.

Maddy Harford, a member of the Bass Coast Refugee Sponsorship Group, also spoke at the event. The group has formed under the Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP) and has been supporting the settlement journey of a Syrian family since arriving in the region.

“Maddy asked the attendees: think about what you can do to include and support our refugee family in our community.”
