“NEW FARM’s Holy Spirit Parish has become the first in the Archdiocese of Brisbane to successfully fundraise for and welcome a refugee family through the CRISP.
Inclusion project officer Steph Jorna said New Farm was the first parish to officially support the Refugee Sponsorship Initiative program and welcome a family in the process.
“We have seen firsthand how generous communities are with their time and resources and witness time and again the power of generosity to open hearts, build relationships, and transform communities into being more inclusive, welcoming and mission-focused,” she said.
She hoped other parishes and communities would be inspired by New Farm and start thinking about supporting the settlement of refugee households in their area.“
