The Nundu family arrived in Australia from Kenya 5 months ago. Moving to a new culture and country can be lonely but with the support of a local CRISP group the family have settled into their new community and are getting used to the highs and lows of Tasmania’s weather
The children are settling into school, and Mr Nundu is working towards a business qualification. He said “I love this place. Because everything goes smoothly, and people are friendly here.”
Group Coordinator, Alison Pitt has said that she finds the program rewarding. “We actually learn from each other, it’s not a one-way street.”
Touchingly, the Nundu’s youngest child, one-month old Ali, was named after Alison.
Our CEO Lisa Button shared that “so far we’ve had four babies who’ve been born in Australia named after the coordinators of their CRISP groups, which really tells you how close that bond can be.”
