On 1 July 2026, after a successful 4-year pilot, the Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Program (CRISP) became a permanent part of Australia’s humanitarian program, with Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia (CRSA) appointed to continue delivering this unique community sponsorship model nationwide.
To mark this transition, on 5 August, CRSA hosted a national online briefing featuring Lisa Button (CEO, CRSA), Adama Kamara (Refugee Council of Australia, Co-CEO), Romy Vitalian (CRISP Director, CRSA), Naomi Chua (CEO, Embrace Sanctuary Australia), Phil Kennedy (Happy Home CRISP group), Julian Ibrahim (CRSA Newcomer Panel member) & Blaise Itabelo (Community Partnerships & Engagement Manager, CRSA).
