
“When I arrived in Australia, my first goal was to study and for my children to go to school so they can have a good future.” said refugee newcomer, Baruani. The former agriculture educator from Congo spoke about the Huon Refugee Support Group with great fondness: “They are like a family. They visit us all the time and help us with everything. They sacrifice a lot for us.” Group member Alison echoed this fondness, believing the program is “not only good for them but also for our community. People say it’s a privilege to meet and work with them.”
