Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia is dedicated to expanding and improving refugee settlement in Australia by
harnessing the generosity, goodwill and social capital of everyday Australians. Since 2022, we have delivered the Community Refugee Integration & Settlement Pilot (CRISP), co-designed and funded by the Department of Home Affairs, enabling groups of everyday Australians to welcome and support refugees. Over three years, CRSA has supported more than 1500 Australians to provide welcome and integration support to over 870 refugee newcomers arriving through the CRISP.
In this document, we provide a snapshot of our work to date including outcomes from the CRISP, now in its fourth year. We also highlight the challenges and opportunities currently shaping the resettlement landscape, our vision for a multi-faceted community sponsorship movement and how CRSA is uniquely positioned to lead the expansion of complementary pathways in Australia.
With strong public support, and material and in-kind contributions in the millions of dollars, this model continues to demonstrate the power and value of a whole-of-society approach to refugee resettlement in Australia.
