The introduction of the Community Refugee Integration Settlement Pilot (CRISP), which becomes permanent on 1 July 2026, was a significant step forward in the development of Australia’s complementary pathways ecosystem and vision for the future. Since its introduction in mid 2022, under the leadership of the Department and Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia, and with the support of dozens of organisations and more than 1600 individual Australians, this ‘matched sponsorship’ program has successfully supported approximately 950 UNHCR-referred refugees receiving a warm community welcome and high-quality wrap around settlement and integration support, as evidenced by independent evaluation findings by the University of Queensland.

This document provides high level outcomes and impact from the successful 4-year pilot with acknowledgement of the Supporting Community Organisations involved in the CRISP.
