On Monday 24 August, CRSA CEO Lisa Button appeared before the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion alongside Jess, a Jewish Australian and member of CRISP community supporter group Wentworth Welcomers, and Leila, a Muslim woman welcomed to Sydney with her daughter by the group.
In its final week of public hearings, the Royal Commission is shining a light on hopeful examples of social cohesion in action across our communities.
Lisa highlighted how community sponsorship creates opportunities for people from different backgrounds, cultures and faiths to connect, learn from one another, discover common ground and build lasting relationships. Jess and Leila’s story brought those impacts to life.
